Rising Storm

about

Just over two years ago I was at university and one of my classes was a somewhat more abstract approach to writing music. The theme this piece was written for was 'Gesture' which was to use sounds in ways which suggested something may be acting or implying. I suppose you could think of a marimba doing quick little notes for when a cartoon character tip toes really quickly.

I took my idea probably too seriously haha. Imagine it getting darker and the movement of some sounds implies the way the waves and wind are acting in a 'Rising Storm', getting stronger and softer. The clouds going from breaking apart to thundering down. Eventually it becomes much more chaotic and then falls back down to eventually disappearing. Maybe it's witnessed on a boat, I dunno, you imagine it!
